Day 76-78 and End of hike for 2018, Hanestad to New Zealand

I stayed in my tent for the day reading and eating. The next day I went back to the restaurant for dinner and to check on the weather. It was now looking really bad for the next 3 days. Unfortunately that meant that I would not make it over the next section before I had to make my way back to Oslo so I reluctantly decided that this was now the finish point of the trail for this year.

I booked my train tickets to Oslo and accommodation for Oslo and headed back to my tent for the final night in Norway.

The next morning I said my goodbye to Norge Pa Langs and began the long journey back to NZ. Norway nature was not happy as I got stung by a bee waiting for the train.

It was a Train From Hanestad to Oslo with one station change at Røros.


I had a couple of days in Oslo to clean my gear and return my DNT key.

Surprising how dirty my hiking pole wrist straps were even after all the rain

I will miss the strange things

Then back home via Bangkok, Auckland and Dunedin for a well deserved break.
